Qbiss Notch Wall System Receives the Red Dot Design Award
Selected from a highly competitive field of submissions from around the globe, Qbiss Notch impressed the international Red Dot Jury with its outstanding design quality, architectural relevance and overall system performance. The award was granted in the Urban Design category, recognising the system’s contribution to contemporary architectural practice.
Beyond the award, Qbiss Notch is a design-driven system that rethinks traditional facade approaches. Its modular system combines vertically articulated panels of varying widths with a graphic language of curves and glyphs, complemented by integrated, illuminated Notch elements as a defining part of the façade system. Together, these elements enable a distinctive façade articulation and a flexible yet controlled design framework. At the same time, the system meets demanding requirements for long-term durability, reliability and sustainable performance.
Conceived as a lasting architectural element for contemporary urban environments, the system supports precise, expressive façade articulation. The project was developed in close collaboration with Pininfarina, with the development process led by Špela Lokar, alongside a multidisciplinary team across design, engineering and production. Receiving the Red Dot Design Award marks an important milestone for Qbiss Notch and signals the next chapter for Trimo.
“This prestigious recognition is an important milestone for Trimo, but not an end point. With Qbiss Notch, we are setting a clear direction: elevating architectural expression without compromising performance, buildability or sustainability. It reflects our belief that strong design must go hand in hand with engineering discipline and responsible, long‑term solutions. That is where we see our role and our future.”
